Virginia Overton

Built

Don River Park

Toronto, Canada

This fall, the Don River Valley Park Art Program partners with New York’s Socrates Sculpture Park to adapt a series of sculptures by Virginia Overton for the Lower Don Valley. For these new works Overton re-purposes familiar materials—roof trusses, pickup trucks, wooden architectural beams— transforming them into potent new sculptural forms that reflect the natural and built environments of cities like Toronto and New York.

The year-long installation of Built in Toronto will feature works along the Lower Don Trail and at the Evergreen Brick Works site from October 2018 to October 2019.

Join us for the public launch with the artist on October 27, 2018.
